Mirela was recently invited to the Smithsonian Environmental Research Centre, where she gave a seminar titled Surface Water Dynamics and Environmental Change at Subcontinental Scale. While in the area, she also stopped by their research facilities, the Global Change Research Wetland, home to several long running experiments on CO2 effects on plant communities, including the longest running experiment of this type in the world, which started in 1987!
